Our main goal at Mwananchi Afrika is to digitise, spread & educate more on our local languages.

The ‘Gítaúra gía Gíkúyú’ project is a trilingual dictionary that intends to further document the Kikuyu language spoken in Kenya by more than 8 million people.
It utilises Gíkúyú, Kiswahili and English in order to open the door to more people than ever before.

It is the first part in the ‘Múríma project’ which intends to create such dictionaries for Kikuyu, Embu and Meru, while supporting similar initiatives for other Kenyan laguages.
